A new and impressive Belotti NAVY machining center is now operational at the production site of the global leader in luxury yachting.

Following the finalization of the installation of the new Belotti NAVY 30082 machining center at the Avigliana (TO) plant, Belotti solidifies its role as a technological partner to Azimut Yachts, supporting its industrial development through the supply of state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions. The official inauguration, which took place last June (2024), marked a significant milestone for both companies. The ceremony was made even more special by the presence of Giovanna Vitelli, President of the Azimut/Benetti group.
During the ceremony, the focus was placed on the production requirements that drove the investment, the technical specifications of the Belotti NAVY CNC center, and the intricate design and construction efforts involved in creating both the machine and the more than 30-meter-long shed. The ceremony also highlighted the skills and professionalism of the entire Belotti team, who were in attendance along with the Belotti SpA Production Director, Stefano Chiesa.

The current result, i.e., a structure composed of more than 40,000 kg of steel, 1,500 m3 of concrete and 4,000m of cables, was possible thanks to the cooperation of the craftsmen, movers, and colleagues who actively worked at the shipyard, but above all thanks to the Belotti team of technicians who optimally carried out the installation of the machining center inaugurated today,” stated Francesco Pennisi, Industrial New Facilities Azimut Yachts.

Equipped with next-generation double bridge and spindles – one per bridge -, a laser scanner for dimensional measurements and specific checks, Siemens ONE numerical control combined with a Tebis CAD/CAM system, the new Belotti center, with a working area of 30 meters in length, 8.5 in width and more than 5 meters in height, enables the machining of all the hulls currently under production at the Avigliana plant,” commented Andrea Parlani, Head of Process Engineering Azimut Yachts.

These components, along with other equipment installed on the machining center, fall within a series of technological innovations specially designed to lead Azimut Yachts, a global leader in the production of luxury yachts and megayachts, towards constant production growth.

Among the key expectations that prompted us to trust Belotti’s solutions again, we emphasize the possibility of automatically performing machining operations that until now had been carried out manually, and being able to machine different parts during a single work cycle. In addition, thanks to the double bridge and double spindles, the Belotti NAVY machining center will enable us to increase both the efficiency and the production capacity of the machine itself, with a significant improvement of working conditions in terms of safety and quality of the finished product,” concluded Parlani.

Collaborating again with Azimut Yachts, developing customized and advanced solutions to improve product quality and process productivity, is for the entire Belotti company a source of great pride, representing the result of a team effort involving all company departments and a testament to the company’s constant commitment to supporting its customers and their expansion goals.
